| A delightful display of handmade ceramic Egyptian Fertility Charms in the form of the rather imposing looking hippopotamus goddess, Taweret, along with the dwarf god, Bes, who assisted during childbirth in driving malevolent spirits away by playing music and dancing and another deity of magic, Hathor. The Egyptians believed that by performing the right magical procedures and spells during childbirth they could drive evil spirits away. Rites, magic and divination played an important role in the Egyptian culture - maybe they could still be applied today! Individually hand crafted frames, made from 100% solid hardwood with a glass frontage. External dimensions of the frame: 28cm x 16cm x 6.5cm deep.
